Tracking our voyages

We will of course endeavour to keep this blog updated daily when travelling but just in case….

This tracker is a great way to see where a ship is and where it has been for the past 24 hours or so.

Some specific ships: MS Amsterdam, MS Volendam, Celebrity Century

MS Volendam is very consistent in using this reporting method. If you want to see how nice and warm the water is or how high the waves are, there are buttons for that below the map.

I had thought of bringing my airband radio and using ShipPlotter to see what other ships are near us but I don’t want to risk having my laptop thrown overboard 🙂 But I was tempted for a short while, it would be really interesting to watch all that movement nearby.

  1. G’day,
I was the reef pilot that you mentioned in your Great Barrier Reef voyage 2009.
Thank you for your very kind words but I must add that I absolutely enjoy my job! I am delighted that you both have such a great insight and appreciation of the world about you and I trust that you will be back here some day!
    kind regards,
    Capt Wal Cray

    • Hi Capt
We indeed did return, in 2011 via Cairns. Another lovely snorkeling experience. We are again in the area in early 2013 but not quite to the GBR, only getting as far as Komodo Island this time.
